Year 10 Photography Trip to the V&A Museum and The Photographers Gallery

Back
May 6th 2022

Year 10 GCSE photography students visited the Victoria & Albert museum where we saw the "Known and Strange" photography exhibition. Photography showcased here presented contemporary ideas of transforming the familiar into the unfamiliar and the ordinary into the extraordinary. The students then had the opportunity to visit the rest of the V&A museum, where we saw sculpture and jewellery.

We then travelled to The Photographers Gallery where we saw amazing works from the entries of the Deutsche Borse Photography Foundation Prize 2022. We also saw 'Photography and the Art of the Album Cover' as well as 'Apian' which explores the interspecies relationship between humans and bees. The students had an amazing day seeing photography for the first time in real life and are excited to now create photography inspired by what they saw.
