BackYr10 Expo
Careers & Apprenticeship Fair
As part of the Warren Schools on-going careers programme of employer and university engagement, on Wednesday the 4th of March, students in Year 10 had the opportunity to attend the Careers and Apprenticeship EXPO at the Guildhall in London as part of the London Careers Festival.
Students had the opportunity to talk to many employers about the different levels of apprenticeships they offer and they were provided with information about how and when to apply for these apprenticeships. The setting for the careers fair was breath-taking and set in one of London’s oldest buildings, the Guild Hall. This was London’s original Town Hall and was built on top of a Roman Fort. The remains of the fort are on display in the basement of the Guild Hall and students also had the opportunity to visit this during our trip.
Many of the country’s top companies were represented at the careers fair, including Deloitte, TFL, The NHS, The British Army, NatWest, PwC, Bloomberg, and Sir Robert McAlpine.
Our students were extremely interactive and engaged fully with the employees of the companies represented. Damon said that the information he received about apprenticeships has made him start thinking more about this as a possibility for the future. Subhan was really impressed with the companies that he spoke to and said it was really nice to be in such an historic and beautiful building.
