FA Careers Workshop
BackOn Friday, 14th March, our Year 11 students took part in an engaging and informative careers workshop delivered by Essex FA. The session was designed to broaden students’ understanding of the wide range of career opportunities available within the football and sports industry.
During the workshop, students explored both on-pitch and off-pitch roles, including coaching, refereeing, sports science, physiotherapy, media and administration. The Essex FA representatives shared their own career journeys, providing valuable insight into the qualifications, skills and pathways required to succeed in the industry.
A key focus of the session was employability skills. Students were encouraged to consider the importance of communication, teamwork, leadership and resilience qualities that are essential not only in sport but in all career paths. Interactive activities allowed students to reflect on their own strengths and how these can be applied in future education and employment.
The workshop also highlighted opportunities for further involvement in football, such as volunteering, coaching courses and local club engagement, helping students understand how they can begin building experience while still in education.
Overall, the session was highly beneficial, inspiring students to think more deeply about their future careers and the diverse opportunities available within sport. We would like to thank Essex FA for delivering such an informative and motivating workshop.
