September 29th 2025

Students and staff at the Warren School had the opportunity to take part in St John Ambulance National Save a Life September Campaign with the combined aim of engaging members of the public and fundraise as part of ‘the Giant Collection’.

St John Ambulance engaged with over 1500+ students and staff at the Warren School and 400+ students at local partner primary schools, during various assemblies dedicated to equipping our communities with 3 essential lifesaving skills. The goal was to educate and empower as many individuals as possible to act swiftly and effectively in the event of an emergency.

By participating in Save a Life September, we are not just teaching a skill we are joining a movement to create a safer, more prepared community.

Watch St John Ambulance's new online first aid videos and other online first aid information, which was also shown during PSCHE form time.

  First Aid Training: Life-threatening bleeding

First Aid Training: Choking

First Aid Training: CPR

Our new first aid videos are featured in the campaign. They are designed to bring fresh visuals and a modern approach to helping people learn how to save a life from choking, cardiac arrest and severe bleeding. A massive thanks to NHS England who funded these (and other first aid resources).

Student feedback include:

"I found that the assembly that showed us how to do CPR, help someone who was choking or bleeding was really helpful as it showed us steps of how to help them as you never know when it could happen. This also is helpful for my future preparing to be a doctor " Harvey, Year 9

"Save a Life September demonstrations has allowed me and other students to learn real life skills which could save help people around me in an emergency" Tonis, Year 12

Year 10 Achievement Team Leader, Ms Scarlett said: “The nature of the assembly ensured that the students were not only attentive but also visibly excited about the topics covered, in particular the practical demonstrations of first aid techniques in regard to CPR, choking and bleeding. By the end of the presentation, students showed so much enthusiasm, and several of them are now eager to participate in further training opportunities. Thanks again for making such a positive impact on the year 10 students and teachers of course”

St John Ambulance is the charity that steps forward in the moments that matter to save lives and keep communities safe. In addition to the first aid courses, we provide and provisions we supply, we also rely on generous cash donations from the public to enable us to provide our services. Without you and our volunteers, St John Ambulance wouldn’t be able to count on our first responders, ambulance operations, or the first aid cover that can be the difference between a life lost and a life saved.

Our Sixth form students helped fundraise for the charity. Giving to St John Ambulance helps us support communities and save lives. With your donation, we can keep more people safe.
