WH trip 3

The PE Department took 60 students to watch West Ham United play Blackburn Rovers in the third round of the Carabao Cup. The students had the opportunity to join in the fantastic culture at the home stadium in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, understanding the legacy of the 2012 Olympic Games.

The game started off at a high pace with Blackburn scoring within the first ten minutes followed by a West Ham equaliser concluding the first half. During the second half of the game, both teams were able to score, resulting in the score of 2-2 by the end of full time. Students got a fantastic experience observing a nail-biting penalty shoot-out between both teams with the final score being 9-10 to Blackburn at the end.

Students had a fantastic time being in the atmosphere of the stadium and showed a high level of energy and enthusiasm.
