Victoria & Albert Museum Visit

This year, the Art department had the pleasure of taking our Year 11 GCSE Art students to the Victoria and Albert Museum (V&A) in London. The trip provided a fantastic opportunity for students to explore diverse collections and gain inspiration for their Exam Unit.

Students explored the museum and took primary source photographs for their externally set assignment. They will subsequently be able to use their photographs for their preparatory work for Exam Unit which this year was entitled with various themes such as, ‘Nature’, ‘Interiors’ and 'Isolation.’

Students engaged with exhibits showcasing textiles, ceramics, photography, and design, allowing them to observe various artistic techniques and cultural influences. They also took part in sketching activities and captured photos to enrich their sketchbooks. Overall, it was a valuable experience that deepened their understanding of art and design while sparking creative ideas for their Exam Unit.
