Warren Musicians Beat Quest Workshop

On Wednesday 13th March we were delighted to welcome a music producer and DJ who ran a 2 hour workshop with our students showing them how to create songs using music loops on GarageBand. Students discussed their favourite styles of music and then were given 1:1 guidance on how to layer up different loops, structure and balance a piece musically and how to manipulate the loops to create fantastic pieces. When the pieces were shared at the end it was impressive to hear how much they had created in the session and also how different they all were.

"It was a really fun session. I have never created music like that before."

"I'm going to download GarageBand at home and keep making music as it was really good."

This session was a free taster supported by the Community Music Service and we are hopeful we will be able to arrange for more sessions in the Summer term.
