Girls Support Girls Workshops
BackGirls Support Girls Workshops for Year 9 and 10 (Chain Reaction Theatre)
On the 1st of March The Warren School had the pleasure of welcoming back Chain Reaction for the second year running to run their ‘Girls Support Girls’ workshop. The programme is using drama-based methods to help girls with their confidence and discuss societal expectations and stereotypes whilst empowering girls to reach their full potential.
During the workshop the girls were able to develop their communication, social skills, teamwork and social interactions. The workshops had different approaches to highlight and understand more about how our girls feel about their body, relationships, eating disorders and love. The workshop focused on educating the girls about those subjects whilst creating a safe space for the girls to express their views and experiences.
Subjects discussed in the workshops
- Healthy body image
- Healthy eating
- The importance of supporting other young women
- Awareness of sexual harassment
- Positive relationships
By the end of the workshop the girls were more confident in themselves, had a better understanding of how relationships should be, healthy eating and most importantly they showed the understanding of how they support each other. The girls had an amazing time in the workshop and look forward to more workshops like this
