Year 12

Welcome to Year 12 at The Warren School

We are thrilled to have you join our vibrant and dynamic Sixth Form community. As you embark on this exciting journey, we understand that adjusting to sixth form life can be both exhilarating and challenging. Rest assured, we are here to support you every step of the way.

In Year 12, we have high expectations when it comes to attendance and punctuality. Regular and punctual attendance is crucial for your success, as it allows you to fully engage with the curriculum and to make the most of the enriching learning experiences we offer. We encourage you to develop a strong sense of responsibility and prioritise your studies.

As independent learners, you have the opportunity to take control of your education and shape your future. With a wide range of subjects and dedicated teachers, you will be empowered to explore your passions, deepen your knowledge, and develop critical thinking skills. We believe in your ability to take ownership of your learning journey and achieve great things.

At The Warren School, we are committed to ensuring that you are well-suited to the courses you have chosen and that you are continually making progress. As the Achievement Team Leader (ATL) for Year 12, I will provide guidance and support to help you navigate your academic path, helping you to reach your full potential.

Maintaining high standards is of utmost importance to us. This includes upholding the school's uniform policy and demonstrating a strong work ethic. Furthermore, meeting deadlines is a crucial skill that will serve you well beyond sixth form. It demonstrates your commitment to your studies but also prepares you for the expectations of higher education and the workplace.

Year 12 is an exciting chapter filled with opportunities for personal growth, academic achievement, and building lasting friendships. We are confident that with your dedication and resilience, and the support of Ms Bruno, our Year Care Team pastoral leader, you will thrive in sixth form.

Once again, welcome to Year 12 at The Warren School. We look forward to embarking on this educational journey together and witnessing your growth and accomplishments.

ASSESSMENT & TRACKING

Parents/Carers will receive formal ‘tracking’ information at three key points in the year.  This will assess how well students are doing, including the BTEC or A Level grades that they are currently on. Parents/Carers and students should use this information to help them plan their work and revision, by comparing the present grades to their target grades and the grades they need for their university choices.  Some parents/carers will be invited in for meetings with the Achievement Team Leader after the tracking, with students placed on an Achievement Support Card. These interventions are intended to help students to achieve their target grades.  Any parent, who would like to discuss the tracking information, or indeed discuss their son or daughter’s progress at any time, should feel welcome to contact their form tutor, teachers or ATL.
