GCSE (2015/16)

The percentage of pupils who gained A* – C grades in English and Mathematics was 61%
The percentage of pupils who gained at least 5+ A* – C grades was 70%
The percentage of pupils who gained at least 5+ A* – G grades was 97%
The percentage of pupils achieving the EBacc was 13%
The number of pupils who achieved at least the minimum expected levels of progress between KS2 – KS4 in English was 81%
The number of pupils who achieved at least the minimum expected levels of progress between KS2 – KS4 in Maths was 89%

The attainment 8 score was 46.8,and the average grade at GCSE was C-

The progress 8 score was -0.08

We are particularly pleased with the fact that:

  • Students achieved 554 A or A* grades in their GCSEs
  • GCSE Chemistry is 10% higher than that of England at 100%
  • Core Science is 23% points above the national average and Additional Science is 14% points higher than that of England
  • Maths results continue to improve and are now 5% points above national
  • A number of optional subjects have registered some excellent results: Business Studies (85% A*-C ), Media Studies (91% A*-C), P.E. (96% A*-C) and Engineering (89% A*-C which is 48% points above the national average)  to mention just a few
