Jack Petchey’s Speak Out Challenge

Back
July 14th 2020

On Tuesday 14th July, Jessica competed in the Digital Quarter Finals of this year’s Jack Petchey’s Speak Out Challenge. The school enters a contestant into the competition every year, however, due to the current pandemic, the usual live regional event was rescheduled as a virtual competition. Jessica competed against twelve other aspiring speakers from London and the South East and delivered a powerful speech titled My Testimony which drew the audience’s attention to the horrors and impacts of human trafficking. Jessica did the school proud and did extraordinarily well to deliver such a moving speech, especially given the current school closure meaning that she would not have received as much face to face support in writing her speech as candidates had in previous years.
