On Wednesday 11th December we welcomed members of the London Metropolitan Police, the London Ambulance service and The Flavasum Trust to run a whole day’s workshop for the Year 9 students. The anti-knife crime sessions
aimed to reach out to young people and engage them about the risk of carrying knives or other weapons. The facilitator from the trust had previously lost his brother to knife crime in Hackney and drew on his personal experience to connect with his audience. Students also had sessions led by the police and ambulance service about the impact that young people carrying and using knives has on them in their roles. Our Year 9 students were fantastic throughout all the sessions and although some of the discussions had were emotional and upsetting students showed their up most respect throughout.
