On Friday 13th July, 16 students from years 9 and 10, including 9 GCSE Drama students, went on a trip to The Actor’s Church in Covent Garden to see the Iris Theatre’s production of Shakespeare’s The Tempest. The behaviour of the students during both the journey into Central London, and during the performance itself, was excellent throughout, and both staff and students alike had an excellent and educational day. The performance was staged outside on four different stages, with the audience moving from stage to stage. The students gained vital insight into how a play can be staged in unexpected and exciting ways.
A fun day for everyone and my thanks goes to Mrs Bixby and the Iris Theatre.
