As a Barking and Dagenham School, The Warren School’s admission arrangements fall within the current LA policy. The LA administers admissions for the new Year 7 intake.

The school’s Planned Admission Number (PAN) is 240 for each year group in Years 7 – 11.

Year 6 Induction – Friday 30th June 2017

Year 6 pupils from local primary schools will join us on Friday 30th June to experience a day at The Warren School. The induction day is aimed at easing the transition process and encouraging students to become more confident about attending secondary school.

We have a team of excited and eager teachers awaiting the arrival of future Warren students on Friday 30th June. Students will get to experience what life at secondary school is like by enjoying taster sessions in some of the following subjects: English, Maths, Science, Art, DT, Media, PE, Drama, MFL, Food, History, ICT and Music. Our Year 10 prefects are brilliant Warren ambassadors and will be supervising and acting as classroom assistants throughout the day too.

Plan for the day

9.05 – Student arrival
9.05-9.15am – Registration
9.15-9.55am – Assembly
10.00-10.50am – Taster Session 1
11.00-11.20 – Break time
11.25-12.15 – Taster Session 2
12.20-12.55 – Taster Session 3
12.55-13.20pm – Early lunch
13.20-14.05pm – Astroturf for games with Sports Leaders
14.05-15.00pm – Assembly and feedback

Students will be provided with lunch but may wish to bring snacks for break time. They will also need their own PE kit and trainers in case they have a PE lesson.

Feedback from Last Year

Pupil feedback in the final assemblies showed that 97% of all pupils gave the day ‘8 or more’ out of 10. Some gave the day 10,000 out of 10!!

Year 5 Taster Day – Friday 7th July 2017

Year 5 pupils from local primary schools will join us on Friday 7th July to experience a day at The Warren School. The aim is to help ease the transition process of joining a secondary school by giving Year 5 students a taste of secondary school life ahead of them.

We have a team of excited and eager teachers awaiting the arrival of future Warren students on the aforementioned days. Students will get to experience what life at secondary school is like by enjoying taster lessons in English, Maths, Science, Art, DT, Media, PE, Drama, MFL, Food, History, ICT and Music. Our Year 10 prefects are brilliant Warren ambassadors and will be supervising and acting as classroom assistants throughout the day too.

Plan for the Day

Students will begin and end the day at their own primary school; primary staff have kindly agreed to accompany students to The Warren. Students will wear their own school uniform.

9.30-9.40 – Arrival and registration
9.40-9.55 – Assembly
10.00-10.50 – Taster session 1
11.00-11.20 – Break time
11.25-12.15 – Taster session 2
12.20-12.45 – Assembly and feedback
