Activity: Skateboard and Scooter Workshops

These exciting workshops will introduce beginners to the basic skills and tricks of skateboarding and scooting whilst those with more experience will focus on the more advanced tricks and skills.

All skills learnt will allow young people to continue to use park and other facilities in a safe and enjoyable way.

Venue: Barking Skateboard Park

Age: 5 to 17 year olds

Dates: Wednesday 25 October 2017

Dates: Thursday 26 October 2017

Time: 9.30am to 4pm

 

Activity: Cheerleading camp

Description: This camp offers expert instruction for children and young people to learn and master a stunt or pirouette or as a group becomes a more cohesive team member in cheerleading.  Children and young people will master the fundamentals and team building skills, learn game planning, transitions, pyramids, safety training and spotting, partner stunts, dances and more.

Staff will make the learning experience fun, easy and memorable and provide a unique cheer leading camp experience where campers learn a lot about themselves and each other by communicating with each other, meeting new people and really bonding as a team.
Participants will get to demonstrate their new found skills and positions at the end of the week to family and friends.

Venue: Becontree Healthy Leisure Centre, Althorne Way, Dagenham RM10 7AY TBC

Age: 8 to 17 years

Times: 1pm to 4pm

 

Activity: Street Dance camp

Description: The Street dance workshops will involve the young people learning a variety of street dance styles from professionals in the industry.  There are a number of street dance styles and we will cover as many as possible to the young people and they will gain a lot of knowledge as well as having fun at the same time. The young people will gain in learning new styles from the street dance umbrella they may have learn never done before, meet new friends, gain confidence and learn how to work as a team and how to create there on choreography

Age: 8 to 17 years

Dates: Monday 23 to Wednesday 25 October

Time: 11am to 4pm

 

 

Activity: Football camp

Description: Each day will have a selected theme which will help improve each player’s Football ability including learning the off side rule, Dribbling, passing and shooting skills.  The end of the week will finish with the football tournament day where each player will receive a medal and certificate.

After completion of the course all players will be given the opportunity to join Ultimate Vision Sports Saturday Football Club which takes place at William Bellamy Primary School 10:15am-11:15am.

Dates: Monday 23 to Wednesday 25 October

Time: 10am to 2pm

 

Activity: Dodgeball camp

Description: A jam packed 3 day sports experience course for children aged 5-14 years old. Each day will be from 10am to 2pm with each day having a selected theme which will help improve each players dodgeball ability.

Mondays theme will be focused on throwing and learning the rules of dodgeball
Tuesdays theme will be focused on catching / blocking and officiating

Wednesday will be the dodgeball championship (tournament day)

After completing of the course all players will be given the opportunity to join Ultimate Vision Sports Dodgeball Club which takes place at Goresbrook School on Wednesday 5pm to 6pm.

Activity: Fencing camp

Little Musketeers is an exciting club offering a fun, safe and educational environment for young children to learn the sport of fencing.   All equipment is provided during the sessions in the form of bright coloured foam and plastic foils and plastic masks with mesh visors that are safe and yet hard enough to give children the real feel of fencing.  Visors are worn at all times giving peace of mind as well as that genuine fencing experience.

Fencing provides a unique mix of physical, intellectual and emotional stimulation.  It is a great way to get or stay fit and meet new people. It also helps develop muscle strength, flexibility and coordination and the diverse array of positions and movements in fencing requires pin point precision and power.

Time: 10am to 3pm

 

Activity: Basketball Camp

This exciting basketball camp will allow young people of all abilities to learn the fundamentals of basketball as well as being challenged.  Coaching will come from highly experienced coaches and will also include elements of healthy living, education, games, competitions and much more

All participants will be signposted to BAD Thunder Basketball Club to further participate in basketball as well as also having the opportunity to participate in the B&D Satellite social basketball session.

Venue: Barking Abbey School Leisure Centre, Woodbridge Road, Barking IG11 9AG

Age: 10 to 16 year olds

Dates: Monday 23 to Friday 27 October

Time: 10am to 2pm

10 to 13 year olds – 23 & 25 October 10am to 2pm and 27 October 10am to 12pm

14 to 16 year olds – 24 and 26 October 10am to 2pm and 27 October 12pm to 2pm


Activity: Athletics camp

Description: The academy is a multi-event athletics development programme, which introduces the fundamental skills of athletics to young people. It focuses not only on how fast someone runs or how far someone jumps and throws but also more importantly, on developing the technical skills required to perform at full potential and move like a champion. Participants will be placed in groups depending on their ability and will learn athletic disciplines through fun games with a competition at the end of the programme.

Venue: Jim Peters Stadium, Mayesbrook Park, Lodge Avenue, Dagenham RM8 2JR

Age: 6 to 17 years

Dates: Monday 23 to Thursday 26 October 2017

Time: 10am to 3pm

(Max no of participants per camp: under 8s 16 over 8 40)

 

Activity: Multi sports camp

Description: The camp covers a wide range of sports including team games and racket sports. The programme is accessible across all ages between 5 and 11 years and all abilities.  It ensures children have fun with friends, at the same time learning the importance of living a healthy and active lifestyle. The programme helps children improve their communication skills, build their self-confidence and develop valuable social skills.
