As part of the Warren School’s aim to raise awareness about the importance of the Food Bank Charity, the 6th form prefects organised a food bank collection for the local food bank at the beginning of December. The Prefects wanted to show that the school can support the local community in the build up to Christmas.
The prefects visited every year group’s assembly to talk about the importance of local Food Banks. All form groups took part and students were asked to bring in one or more items of non-perishable food as a donation. The students were very generous and the donations flooded in. The students and staff have collected enough food to make a serious difference to the lives of many local families.
The food was collected on the 14th December by the local food bank who were overwhelmed by the amount that was collected. “ We would like to thank all students and parents for their kind donations, and express how really proud we are of the support given from students, staff and the community in doing something so powerful.”
