Arsenal Emirates Stadium Trip

Year 7 and Year 8 PE Rewards Trip

On Friday the 28th June the PE Department took 30 Year 7 & 8 students on a rewards trip to the Arsenal Emirates Stadium.

We were fortunate enough to have a dedicated guide called Ray who was full of facts and insider information about the stadium.

The stadium tour took us from the players entrance underneath the ground up to the directors entrance and then up into the ‘Directors Lounge’. Students got the opportunity to sit in the directors seats and take in the breath-taking magnificence of the stadium design.

The guide Ray explained the boards around the stadium displaying all of the trophies the club had won in the previous 100 years.

We were then led to the Diamond Club Lounge that on match days has a Michelin star food served to members and guests of the rich and elite fans.

After this we were then taken to the students’ favourite part of the stadium, the home dressing room. The facilities and luxury of these changing rooms took all the students by surprise.

We were then led down the tunnel to edge of the pitch and the home dugout where the manager and substitutions sit.

For the last part of the tour we were taken to the press room where some students were selected to sit in the hot seat and answer questions.

After the tour we had the opportunity to visit the Arsenal Museum and look at the origins of the cub and previous generations of Arsenal players and managers and how Arsenal manager Herbert Chapman instigated floodlights at football grounds; fitness and diet; and changed the name of an underground station to Arsenal.

  • Rio Ferguson-Copes said of the trip, ‘this is the best experience I have had in year 7. To have the opportunity to visit one of the best stadiums in the world and see behind the scenes was so amazing.’
  • Sorin Cegolea said, ‘this is the best stadium I have ever been to and I am so grateful to the PE department for making this trip possible.’
