On the 27th September 2016 The Warren School welcomed back The Arc Theatre Project with their latest RAISED VOICES film presentation written and performed by young women from different schools in Barking & Dagenham. Year 10, 9 and 8 pupils watched the film and took part in a lively discussion on topics such as Child Sexual Exploitation, Mental Health and Domestic Violence.
Natalie Smith the project leader said, “I just wanted to write and say a huge thank you for having the latest RAISED VOICES presentation at The Warren School today. We always enjoy bringing our projects to your school and today was no different. The Year 8, 9 and 10 students we worked with were so welcoming and positive about our session. They watched and listened brilliantly and participated extremely well in the discussions. One boy commented that he thought a Transgender student would be well looked after at The Warren School and other students would treat them fairly. Some of the girls were very complimentary about individual performances in the film and we had some very interesting discussions about Child Sexual Exploitation, Mental Health and Domestic Violence – with your students behaving very sensitively and mature dealing with these hard-hitting subjects.”
